A serious contender in the WordPress e-Commerce shopping carts solutions arena is a plugin aptly called Checkout. It is made by Tribulant, a software company.
Checkout is a commercial plugin. But is it worth its cost? Read this review to know what to expect before you purchase the plugin.
Ease of Installation and Usage
Installation of this shopping cart plugin is as easy as any other WordPress plugin. After you’ve purchased and downloaded the plugin, simply put it in the plugins folder, activate it, and you’re done.
The developers at Tribulant have put extra care to make sure that this plugin is easy to use. That’s why you’ll find Checkout’s menus easy to navigate and understand.
Supported Payment Gateways
Checkout supports 2Checkout, PayPal (Standard only, no Pro), Authorize.net, eMatters, First Data, MoneyBookers, and Realex. The beauty of Checkout is that is it capable of allowing your buyers of picking their preferred method of payment. You just have to make sure all the enabled methods are configured correctly in the administration panel.
Selling Digital Content
Checkout is also suitable for selling digital content. You can either upload contents through the shopping cart user-interface, or you can provide direct download links, and the shopping cart would take of keeping the URLs safe.
Documentation and Support
To get support, you can utilize the help-desk. There is no forum or community support.
As for documentation, it is very comprehensive and Tribulant even provide video tutorials for some essential tasks. Even though the documentation is rich, it is awkward to navigate. You can access the documentation and help page here. As you can see there are tabs and links on the page, but be sure not to miss the rest of the full documentation on the right sidebar.
Pricing
Single Website License ($49.99)
With this license you may create a single shopping cart website…no more. Tribulant says you may create more websites using this license, but not for commercial purposes!!
Unlimited Websites License ($249.95)
With this license, you’re free. Install on any number of websites you want.
Refund Policy
Tribulant doesn’t encrypt the source code of the software. That’s why they feel that once you have the code, the software is fully yours. There’s no way they can take it back. That’s why, they offer no refunds. I don’t agree with their thinking, but at least you now know what to expect before you buy. So, make your decision carefully.

Thank you very much for this awesome review of our WordPress shopping cart plugin! If anyone has questions regarding the software, please contact us: http://tribulant.com/support/ . All the best, Antonie
